The method

S.H.I.A.N.E.

Six dimensions for the layers most training skips. It starts with the person, before a word of technique touches the surface, and builds a voice that holds in every room where the stakes rise.

Why it exists

Most training works on the surface. Pressure goes underneath.

Capable people are handed key messages and coached on eye contact. Even media training, which prepares them for difficult journalists and hostile situations, works only on the outside: nothing is internalised, and nothing is aligned with the person delivering it. The moment real pressure arrives, the surface peels away and the old patterns take over.

S.H.I.A.N.E. works in the order the pressure does. First the inner foundation: the body, the evidence and the patterns. Then the bridge, where what you know becomes what you say. Only then the outward voice: the story and its delivery.

The six dimensions

Three inward, one bridge, two outward.

Each dimension answers one question. Together they build a voice that is heard, trusted and remembered.

S

Sense

Self-knowledge

Read what your body does under pressure and learn to work with it, rather than fight it.

What is my body telling the room before I speak?

H

Harness

Self-knowledge

Catalogue the real capability the inner critic keeps discounting, so the evidence is reachable when you need it.

What do I actually have to stand on?

I

Inspect

Self-knowledge

Name and map the one pattern that undercuts you under pressure, so it becomes visible instead of repeating.

What do I keep doing when the stakes rise?

A

Align

The bridge

Close the gap between what you believe and what you say. Values become a purpose you can stand behind.

Do I mean what I say?

N

Narrate

Voice

Build your professional story from the foundation up, into a shape someone else can hold.

What is the story only I can tell?

E

Express

Voice

Carry all of it into the room: breath, posture, pace, eye contact and presence under live conditions.

Does it survive contact with a live audience?

Try it · Sense

Your emotions show up in your body. Your audience can feel it.

Different emotions create different physical states, and they shape how you speak, connect and lead. Choose a state to see where it lives.

What you might notice

Nervousness

  • Racing heart
  • Shallow breath
  • Muscle tension

This is Sense, the first dimension of S.H.I.A.N.E.: the body read rather than fought. The full assessment maps all six.

Where do you feel least aligned?

Map the communication contexts where you feel least like yourself. Notice the pattern. That is where the work begins.

Your pattern

Mark each circle, from the closest to the most exposed.

The reflection prompts and the shift that follows are in the book.

Awareness is the beginning of alignment.

Narrate

A story someone else can hold.

Your professional story is not a script. It is a structure, built in layers, so it holds when the stakes rise.

Inside the book

The Professional Narrative House™

A seven-layer structure for a professional story that connects, convinces and creates impact. Built from the foundation up, read from the roof down.

The full house is taught in What Your Voice Is Costing You and built one to one in the Advisory Track.

The four archetypes

Where do you stand right now?

Plot self-knowledge against voice and four archetypes appear. The direction of travel runs diagonally, from Apprentice to Sovereign.

The Performer

Low self-knowledge · High voice

Polished in the room. Hollow beneath the surface. Genuine craft, untethered from a grounded self.

Strengths: A · N · EDeveloping: S · H · I
→ Anchor the voice in self-knowledge

The Sovereign

High self-knowledge · High voice

Rooted and radiant. Speaks from wholeness rather than performance. The work is elevation, not foundation.

Strengths: S · H · I · A · N · E
→ Elevation and range extension

The Apprentice

Low self-knowledge · Low voice

The honest starting point. Not lacking, beginning with truth. Everything needed is already available.

Developing: S · H · I · A · N · E
→ Build the ground first

The Reservoir

High self-knowledge · Low voice

Depth inside. Outward voice still forming. The most developable archetype in the framework.
